Making Do.

Top: The jig created to screen print skateboard decks that we cut by hand. It ain't pretty, but it worked quite well.

Below: The screen print light and stand, constructed from fitted pvc tubing. -Also a hit. We get by!

Saw Horse.

This has been a hectic week preparing for graduation and the portfolio show. It was hard for me to find time to pay attention to my surroundings. I will say that screen printing my promotional items today was a thoughtless act, for the most part, in its entirety. This is our make shift screen print table, consisting of two saw horses and some duct tape.

Again.

Here's another. Safe and sound.

Why?

I see this a lot, and finally snapped a picture for the blog. Are these coasters keeping people from spitting in these drinks, or slipping some roofies? Seems to me if I really wanted to, I could still do either without too much effort. Maybe if you keep track of the exact angle at which the coaster sits, you will know if your drink has been tampered with.. I see it with napkins a lot. Anyway...

Set Times.

Doug Fir runs a tight ship. I'm used to going on whenever the previous band decides they're finished and  lazily gets their gear off stage. This is the adaptation Doug Fir has implemented in their green room to keep the drunk, stoned musicians on their time slots.

Nona the Apparition.

There is a window in our office right above the door to the photo studio. It won't stay closed and squeaks back and forth all the time. Our building is supposedly haunted and this squeaking is clearly other worldly communication. This is my bosses method of combatting the ghosts. I'm waiting for this blade to fly out and get one of use in the eye. Seems quite precarious.

IZZY.

I thought this was interesting. I was walking home from work the other day and saw each of these on different corners of the same neighborhood. The Izzy's missing sign utilizes a ziploc back to keep it dry. The Izzy's found sign is laminated. Perhaps the difference is due to the level of urgency involved in each post. At any rate, I was glad to see that Izzy had been found.

To What End?

Walking around before our Doug Fir show, catching some air on an awesome, sunny day. I see things like this all the time around town. Mark making.
